The Rhodes Lunar New Year 2015 celebrations were held in Foreshore Park in February this year. Again we had Cinema in the Park, stalls and entertainment. There was lots of fun for the community. These photographs were captured by Valent Lau who specialise in event photography in Sydney.
This year Kung Fu Panda was screened and of course there was amazing fireworks. Local community groups came to support the day. The Festival was organized by Communities for Communities with assistance from the RMCA.
Did you get caught out by the wild storms in early November?
After a hot day at 4pm a sudden storm blew across Sydney, taking down trees and balcony awnings.
The State Emergency Service (SES) were called out more then 400 times as a result of the storm. Fortunately there was not too much damage in our local area.
This is what high winds can do to our balcony screens. we need to be sure to secure our screens whenever there are high winds so as to ensure no injury no neighbours and pedestrians.

We hope to be piloting English as a Second Languages courses later in the year. Preference will be given enrollment to RMCA members. More information will be available in late September/October.
