Rhodes Star of Riverside – Moon Festival Celebration!
September 3, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
We are very excited to invite everyone to our 8th Rhodes Moon Festival 2022 at Rhodes Foreshore Park on Saturday, 3rd September.
Except for 60 stalls,5 hours of performances, kids activities and rides during the day, band performances, and special high technology light programs in the evening, the event this year features extraordinary cultural activities and high technology lighting interaction. We are arranging a 100 people dragon dance to promote community harmony. This will be the first time ever happening in Sydney. Political leaders, people in wheelchairs, kids from scouts, seniors, families from different cultural backgrounds in cultural costumes, Burwood police, local firefighters, and members of the LGBT group are invited to run the dragon dance together! We will have the Aboriginal community leader Mike Bulter deliver the welcome to country speech and hold the pearl and guide the dragon. The dragon symbolises a community with members from different cultural backgrounds and sectors united as one and staying strong. And the pearl symbolizes the aboriginal spirit and wisdom leading the multicultural community. We celebrate our culture with the inspiration of the traditional culture and contribute to an improved sense of identity.
There will also be a lighting ceremony at 5.30 pm. With all the lights up in Rhodes Foreshore Park, Vivid Rhodes will be very fabulous.
